Not just Taco Tuesday,
Here is this week's release, we hope you enjoy it!
|In a Trek Tuesday twofer, here we get an intimate look into the everyday home life of the father of Trek, Gene Roddenberry. It's unclear exactly when these pictures were taken, though they appear to be from around the late '60s TOS time-frame. The image on the left, of Gene in his library, instantly conjures images from various Original Series episodes in this life-long Trek fan. The potted plant (the pot itself has stars on it) reminds me of the Pod Plant from one of my favorite episodes - This Side of Paradise - in which Spock uncharacteristically displays a wide range of emotions due to the effects of the Omicron spores he is afflicted with. The statue, on the other hand, reminds me of one of my least favorite episodes - Who Mourns for Adonais? - in which the Enterprise is captured by an alien claiming to be Apollo, the Greek god of the sun. (I always thought this episode was boring as a kid, not enough action.)
What are some of the things these images get YOU thinking about? Comment below, we'd love to hear from you! :)
